The basics
Good Research
Good Research
The benefits of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA), found in fish oil, have been supported by repeated double-blind clinical trials. In 2004, the FDA announced qualified health claims for omega-3 fatty acids, noting supportive but not conclusive research showing that consuming EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. One pill of our Omega-3 Fish Oil includes 800mg of omega-3 fatty acids, 750mg of which are EPA and DHA.

Helps maintain a healthy heart

Researchers have conducted studies showing omega-3 is beneficial for heart health. Of the studies performed, many have assessed positive effects on cardiovascular health, including keeping healthy lipids and blood pressure in the normal range. Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.*

Supports eye health

Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA) are an essential building block for all cell membranes, and are especially abundant in our eyes, particularly the outer segments of photoreceptor cells in the retina. In a recent clinical trial, researchers found that omega-3 supplementation in patients with dry-eye symptoms experienced an increase in eye comfort and healthy tears.*

Helps maintain cognitive health

Omega-3 is a crucial component of brain health. Research indicates that these fatty acids play a role in enhancing memory, boosting mood, and supporting cognitive performance. Studies have also shown that DHA, a specific type of omega-3, can improve different aspects of memory and cognition. Additionally, eating more omega-3-rich fish has been linked to better performance on cognitive tests.*

Supports healthy lipid levels

Studies show that EPA and DHA, the main omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil, help maintain triglyceride and good cholesterol levels that are already in a normal range. Good cholesterol refers to high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Keeping both of those lipid levels in a normal range can help support your overall heart health.*

Supports healthy blood pressure levels

Omega-3 is a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) that has a wide range of positive impacts on the cardiovascular system. Of note, epidemiological studies show that increased intake of omega-3 (particularly EPA and DHA) can support healthy blood pressure levels already in a normal range by promoting healthy blood flow and a relaxation in vessel walls.*

Important when not eating fish

The American Heart Association recommends eating fish (particularly fatty fish) at least two times per week due to their beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. If you don’t often eat fish, supplementation may be beneficial to you.
