Emerging Research

Traditionally Used

For hundreds of years, the indigenous hunter-gatherer San people of South Africa have used kanna, or sceletium tortuosum, to support cognitive focus and memory. Scientific research on kanna has indicated it positively affects brain health, but more is needed to determine the herb’s full impact. If you’re looking for something to boost your brain, kanna has a rich history.*

Consult your doctor if you take these medications

Kanna supports brain function and mood, which may alter the effects of other medications that also impact brain health.* If you are currently taking anti-anxiety or antidepressant medications, especially SSRIs or MAOIs, talk to your doctor before taking kanna.

Our Kanna

Grown in South Africa

Our kanna is grown from the sceletium tortuosum herb, a flowering succulent plant native to the Namaqualand and Little Karoo areas of South Africa. It is harvested sustainably with the contribution of indigenous knowledge to produce the full, unaltered extract.

Sustainably produced

We grow our kanna in fully controlled growing conditions, cultivating it under shade netting in certified fresh tree bark bags. After the plant reaches maturity, it is harvested, analyzed for potency and purity, and dried. All ingredients are continuously tested to ensure consistent quality.
