Very Strong Research

Vitamin D is essential for general health and for strong bones.* Deficiency is rare, but has serious health consequences, like rickets.

A 2011 study showed that over 70% of Americans get less than the daily recommended amount of vitamin D. If you don't get a lot of sun - which helps your body produce vitamin D - or if your diet is low in foods that contain it, you may be among them. Foods that contain vitamin D are fatty fish, beef liver, and fortified milk and cereal.

Supports bone health

Adequate intake of vitamin D is essential to maintain healthy bones. Vitamin D is necessary for calcium and phosphorus absorption, which is why it is a major component of bone health.* Ingesting adequate calcium and vitamin D throughout life as part of a well-balanced diet may reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Produced from the sun

Vitamin D is found in our diet, but we also produce it through exposure to sunlight. However, a number of factors impact the ability for people to get necessary levels of vitamin D through sun exposure. Regional factors that prevent people from getting sun exposure include cloud cover patterns, smog, and the angle with which the sun hits the earth. In cities north of 37 degrees latitude (imagine a line drawn between San Francisco and Richmond, VA), it’s hard for people to produce enough vitamin D from sun exposure, especially between the months of November and March.

Helps keep your immune system strong

Several placebo-controlled studies have shown that vitamin D can regulate the growth and function of immune cells, which are critical for a healthy immune and inflammatory response. In one study, participants who were given 2,000 IU of vitamin D saw a higher concentration of the immune cells responsible for strengthening our bodies’ natural defense system.*

Our Vegan D

Sourced from algae

Our vegan D contains vitamin D3 produced from non-GMO algae grown on farms in Europe. Algae is a rapid-growing plant with little to no negative impact on its local environment, making it one of the most sustainable and responsible farmed food sources available.

Tested in the U.S.

To produce our vegan D we use a multi-step extraction process without the use of hexane or other harsh solvents. Our D3 then undergoes comprehensive testing for toxins and compounds that can grow in the same water-based environment as our algae.

Packaged in a shared facility with Soy, Egg, and Fish (Salmon) following current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

We recommend that you consult your doctor prior to use if you are considering taking dietary supplements for the first time, or are pregnant, nursing, taking any medications, or have any medical condition.

Store product in a cool and dry place. Keep out of reach of children. If you experience an adverse event or allergic reaction, discontinue use immediately and contact a healthcare professional.
